    Richard Wolf GmbH is taking image quality in endoscopy to a whole new level with sophisticated technology for pin sharp 4K resolution. The precisely coordinated system components guarantee realistic image reproduction. At the same time, the system is energy-efficient, ergonomic and compact. Intelligent processing algorithms, referred to as Special Imaging Modes (SIM), allow structures that are difficult to discern to be rendered more clearly.

    4K means a resolution of at least 3840 x 2160 pixels, four times that of the existing HD standard.     ERAGONstitch, the new, modular generation of needle holders for laparoscopy is setting a new standard in this field.

    Two ergonomic handle designs, two sheath diameters, three working lengths and a total of five different jaw parts cover every user requirement.     With the launch of the new “SLIM” sensor bronchoscope, the first model compatible with the ENDOCAM Logic camera platform (HD and 4K) has now been added to the flexible sensor bronchoscope family.

    With the launch of MAMBA vision, Richard Wolf offers the endourologist a single source for three flexible sensor endoscopes designed for a wide variety of applications in conjunction with the new ENDOCAM Logic 4K camera platform.

    All three flexible sensor endoscopes can be combined with the ENDOCAM Logic 4K controller and offer the user a high-resolution image and the possibility of detecting details in the tissue through Special Imaging Mode (SIM) and thus facilitate tissue differentiation.

  • Richard Wolf Laparoscopic single-channel varicocele dissection (LEVD)

    Pediatrics

    New technique in pediatric surgery

    Laparoscopic single-channel varicocele dissection (LEVD) is a new procedure in pediatric surgery. The “scarless” method combined with reduction of surgical trauma is performed as an outpatient operation.

    In contrast to the previous standard laparoscopic procedure in the 3-trocar technique, the surgeon only uses one access (single-port technique) with the LEVD, through which the surgical laparoscope, and, thus in-turn, the instruments can be introduced.

    A key element of the new surgical technique is the mini surgical laparoscope with an integrated 3.5 mm working channel. Like all classic surgical laparoscopes, the mini surgical telescope has a viewing direction of 0 degrees. This is a prerequisite for use of the auxiliary instruments, which are applied through the integrated working channel, i.e. in the same axis. The perfectly matched surgical set is completed by 3.5 mm instrument set in monopolar and bipolar design.

    The PERCULINE joint system is a universal instrument system for percutaneous denervation of the facet and sacroiliac joints using 4 MHz radiofrequency energy in interventional therapeutic pain procedures in the lumbar spine.

    The instrument set is used to create percutaneous access ports to the facet and sacroiliac joints, for preparation and dissection of tissue using manual instruments, and for coagulation, tissue reduction, and ablation by means of radiofrequency energy.

    The Radioblator RF4 radiofrequency generator with a working frequency of 4 MHz is the centerpiece of this effective tissue-preserving coagulation system.This, combined with the actively articulating TipControl RF Electrode, provides for precise positioning of the radiofrequency energy in the tissue.

    PERCULINE nucleo is the universal instrument set for percutaneous nucleoplasty utilizing 4 MHz radiofrequency energy application in therapeutic pain interventions in the lumbar spine.

    The primary therapeutic goal of nucleoplasty is decompression of nerve structures through volume reduction of the vertebral disk by means of radiofrequency ablation and mechanical removal of nuclear material with rongeurs.

    The reusable instrument set is used to create a percutaneous access port to the vertebral disk, for preparation and removal of tissue using manual instruments, and for coagulation, tissue reduction, and ablation by means of radiofrequency energy.

    ESWT in the field of urology

    Linear focusing piezo shockwave for the treatment of vascular erectile dysfunction. This procedure was developed under the name LSTC-ED (Linear Shockwave Tissue Coverage – Erectile Dysfunction).

    Shockwaves have shown excellent results in the treatment of vascular erectile dysfunction (ED). A functional improvement was demonstrated 6 months after treatment and proves the long-term effect of LSTC-ED treatment.

    In addition to established methods for the treatment of benign prostatic hyerplasia (BPH), new methods are becoming increasingly important in endourology and a trend towards endoscopic enucleation of the prostate (EEP) can be observed in recent years. This is also reflected in the current EAU Guidelines (2018). In the current guidelines EEP is cited as the first choice for treatment of BPH for prostate glands > 80 ml.
